how long does it take for wester digital date lifeguard diagnostic to run a quick smart test on a 1tb? because mine estimated 5 mins but it been 2 hours =.= http://i46.tinypic.com/2czc7jc.jpg… is it suppose to be that slow?
It will depend if the hard drive has any hardware problems, but yes usually is a lot less than 2 hours.
A 5-minute test should take just 5 or 6 minutes, tops. If the disk is encountering some bad sectors during random reads and writes there is a problem with it.
