WDC WD3200AAJS-ATA Drive (thats a WD 320 SATA, right?)

Hi,

I had reason to delve into my event viewer and find that since September (drive was new in May), I have been getting error 7 messages, disk, "the device, \device\harddisk0\DRO, has a bad block.

Along with that, there seems to have been some NTFS failings that appear to have then repaired.

I haven’t noticed any strange behaviour otherwise.

I just ran HD Tune, did the error check and there was one little red square, all the rest green.

Should I worry?

Thanks :o)

test again

if apears a red square again rma it

if not  its ok for now

Hello David,

What does rma it mean, please?

I did a chkdsk the other night (before running HD Tune) here is the log… does it make anything clearer?

can you use hard disk sentinel for windows to see if there is a real problem with the drive or not ?

send here a picture of the main window and smart window in hard disk sentinel.

RMA means Return Material Authorization or send something for replacement

cheers

Hiya,

Attached are images - hope you can read them ok…

your hard drive seems to be fine

only 4 bad sectors have being found until now

monitor that hard disk frequently…

my recomendation is to move all contents to another drive and test the entire surface of that hard drive

if appears more bad sectors use the warranty  if possible
