Wdbackupengine runs continuously

After completing backups, wdbackupengine still cycles continuously, using 100% of 1 thread cpu, rattling the disks reading some database files stored in C:\ProgramData\Western Digital\WD Backup\

I’ve seen other references to what seems to be this problem, but no resolution.

My backups are set to run once a day (rather than continuously) so there really ought to be an idle period.

running Windows 10 wdbackupengine 2.0.0.15

Are you able to try that on a different PC?

Have you tried resetting the drive to see if stills the same?

This persists over reboots, and is not a new problem. I can’t really move my backup disk to another pc without completely messing up my backups.
