I have an external enclosure that the hard drive failed.

Due to warranty being out past 5 months I decided to buy a new 1TB drive and install into this case are replace the old drive but when I plug in the drive I get a fast blinking light and I can’t get it to work.

I know the new drive is good because when I plug it into an external dock it works perfectly, I was even able to format it.

Is there something I need to do to make this work? I know the original drive had preloaded software is this why?

Any help to get this working would be great.

Hi, does the replacement drive has the same model, brand?

Yes, same 1TB drive.

I took the original drive out and put into a sata dock and ran the WD Diag programs and a low level format and now it won’t work in the original housing either. It seems it needs to have the same formatting as it comes from the factory.
