WD30EZRX went suddenly unallocated

It happened after just 12 days of working time (POH).
Event viewer records continuously:
io-operation-at-logical-block-address-for-disk-was-retried

Should I initialize and try data recovering?
As it is, nothing seems working.
Short self-test never ends, keeps running for more than 30 mins…but shows no warnings…
Any hope I can see folders again?

Hello Heyricardo,

I would suggest you to test the drive with Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows to diagnose for any possible errors.

Refer the link mentioned below for more information.

https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6226

the short self-test keeps running and after more than 30 min never ends…
When I try and initialize windows says:

The IO operation at logical block address 0x22c800 for Disk 1 (PDO name: \Device\000000e3) failed due to a hardware error.

Do you think it’s a hardware component or faulty firmware?
Original firmware has no updates available (80.00A80)
