Can anyone tell me what the latest manufacture date is where WD IDLE has worked on these disks - and what firmware.

Im looking to purchase ~40 of these for a slow storage SAN at work but will not proceed if the headparking cannot be increased from 8 sec or disabled without some performance issues.

Not sure about this one dude

try calling WD directly

if you can find drives from the middle of 2011 and wd20eras i think it will work

i dont have newer drives so i didnt test it
