I wonder why WD wouldn’t put it under available downloads for a WD20EARS.
I don’t have an EARS anymore, but my EADS has 17281 hours and only 901 load cycles, so I certainly have no need for the utility. I don’t recall my EARS having excessive load cycles, however. My reading of the posts around here about the idle issue, seems to indicate it’s almost exclusively a linux issue.
