WD2002FYPS-02W3B0 - Is This Normal?

I have a WD2002FYPS-02W3B0 (2TB RE4-GP) w/ firmware 04.01G01

I haven’t used it yet.  Took it out of its anti-static bag this morning and plugged it into my PC.  At 10AM PST this morning, booted up the Ultimate Boot CD and ran Active@ Kill Disk.  Chose the RE4-GP and started a single pass of zeros.  It is now 4:46PM PST and the pass is only 38% complete with 9 hours, 1 minute and 24 seconds left.

Does this seem very long to anyone else?

Here are the specs. for the PC the RE4-GP is in:

Intel i7-2600

Gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H

16GB DDR3-1600

160GB Intel G2 SSD

600GB VelociRaptor

2TB RE4-GP

AMD 2GB HD6950

I’m aware of the problem regarding the SATAII ports on Intel’s new H67 and P67 chipsets, but that can’t be the reason why it’s taking so long to wipe (single pass zeros) this RE4-GP.  It’s connected to one of the SATAIII ports.

Is there something wrong with this RE4-GP?

Finally finished the one pass. zeros wipe.  Took 14 hours, 13 minutes and 05 seconds.

What’s wrong with this drive?  Or is that how long this model normally takes to do a single pass of zeros?

test the writing and reading performance and judge for your self mate

any problem report here the results

you can use hard disk sentinel to monitor the reading/writing
