Hi all… I have an issue with the wd2000b014 external drive… when i power it up the green power light appears and it blinks in a regular patern producing a reading sound but nothing happens… the computer does not even recognize it or make a sound when you attach an usb device… after a few restarts it would be ok… but from today i am stuck with blinking… please help… i know it is pretty old device but i need it… thank you in advance…
I would recommend replacing the USB cable, testing the device with different computer systems, and performing a disk health test by means of Western Digital Data LifeGuard Diagnostics, as instructed in the following link:
Replacing the USB cable did not help… WD diagnostic tool you reccomended did not detected the drive… Any other suggestions? Thank you…
