WD10EARS XP to W7

I have two WD20EA R S drives as storage drives.  Originally these were in an XP machine.  I used the jumper on the back to make them work in XP.  I’ve since upgraded to windows 7, and still use these as storage drives.  Is there any benefit to removing the jumper and reformatting them as Advanced Format or is it not worth the trouble?  Is there any formatted capacity difference, transfer speed difference?

Thanks.

You should be able to leave them as is.  If you removed the jumper, you’d probably have to reformat them in Win 7.  This would cause you to lose all your data on the drive.
