WD10EARS upside down

I am building a new system and it will have 3 WD10EARS drives. Can these drives work correctly if they are installed upside down? Can this placement affect the reliability of the drive? Thanks in advance.

You can mount HDDs on either vertical or horizontal position. But I personally prefer to install label side up. This position has even gravity effect on all components and less likely to have errors on prolong use. Whatever the plan position you choose, partitioning and formatting have to be done on that position. Changing the original position after formatting a drive has negative effect on HDD performance.
