hi the wd medial centre i have wont talk to my 3terabite wd my book, was told to update firmware but this didnt fix problem. firm ware is 2009 is there going to be an upgrade soon so i can use the 3t external drive?

It’s more than “doubt”.
The Gen1 WDTV (WD00AVN & WD00AVP) was "End OF Life"d over a year ago.
WD has openly said there will be no future firmwares for it. It is a “Legacy” device.
