Working well, management tool is pretty nice. But…

I have one problem. I can only access the device by IP address

 not by device name and share name.

I would appreciate any input. I did change my host file to not luck.

Win7, newest bios on the device, 2.0.19, drive in RAID1 configuration.

That drive is not supported on Windows 7 so it could be part of the problem or the problem itself. If you can’t access it by typing \thenameofyourdrive on the search bar when you click on start, then there’s not much to do other than confirming if you have the same problem on XP or Vista…

Re did the hosts file. Must have had a typo. 

added:

192.168.0.18wdhostname

Now able to access by \wdhostname\public
