I have a problem with a My Passport for Mac. It will unlock but the disc does not mount. Cannot perform first Aid on the disc. When I clic on the “restore” button, the message that opens says that "WD My Passport 0829 Media will be erased and replaced with the data on the volume selected below, which I have two choices, one of which is WD Virtual CD 0829 Media and the other is the hard drive of my laptop.
My question is what is the data that in on the WD Virtual CD 0829 Media?
Is this data what was on the HD before I had this problem? Thank you, Louis
That’s the utility software that WD ships on the drive. You’ll note it’s a very small volume.
