Hi, i have a question about the heating case - is it possible to use the hdd without the heat cover witch is included with the hdd so i can use it as a 2,5’’ laptop drive ? Can the laptop be the heat dissipation ?
i wouldnt do it… it may kill your drive
Beside killing your drive, it might kill your laptop too (by overheating the laptop itself).
Velociraptor is 2.5inch not because it is intended to fit a laptop, but because they used laptop HDD factory to make it smaller, so the head has to travel less to reach the edge of the disk, allowing smaller seek times.
