WD USB MyBook not recognised as a target

Slightly puzzled by this …

USB MyBook installed successfully Windows sees it can access it write to it and read from it

WD SmartWare sees it as a source but not as a target

WD QuickView sees it …

My WD Elements USB drive is seen as a target … why not the USB MyBook?

Are you running the latest version of the software? if not, please download the latest version from the support site.

My drive has a model number on the supported drives list … and I’m running the latest version of software.

Still puzzled …

Even if the drive was “unsupported” it should be supported according to the SmartWare Pro help file.

WD SmartWare Pro … supports “unsupported WD drives”
