WD USB does not engage. Always has before. Checking not upside down, etc. What's wrong? It came w/ the Passport

See title above. I’m new here and trying to do everything correctly

I do not want to Format the Disc. I last used it about 8 months ago and it worked fine. Has not been abused or damaged in any way. The plug just will not enter the USB Slot all the way
