Hi, hope someone can assist.

I can no longer access my WD Passport. When I plug the drive in, WD Unlocker Autoplay works and gives me the option run unlock.exe, but when I try, i get an error message ‘The application has encountered an unexpected error and is now exiting.’

I can view the virtual CD drive in Windows Explorer and can double click the Unlock application, but get the same error message as above.

Do I need to update the Unlock software or perhaps the Firmware for this device and if so, can I lose my data?

Unfortunately, this means the application is unstable in the current system. I would recommend to permanently disable encryption by using another computer system.
