WD TW - HD media player - USB port problem

Is my media player done?

My problem: My player does not SEE my hard drives. It started with USB port 1 then I could use port 2 for 2 months. Now nothing happen when I plug my storages, it doesn’t matter which storage I try, USB key or mobile drive from WD. Do anyone have similar experience?

Heimir

Have you tried resetting the unit via the side paperclip button. Press for 1 second and then release with the unit fully booted up.

Thank you for solving my problem!

I have the same problem - and the paper clip solution did not work. The HD TV Live Plus was working until a few days ago when it updated itself  to the 1.04.18_B firmware. Since then, when I try to use a USB thumb drive (which had worked before) it says

“Unable to create media library on read-only storage.”

But the drive is Ext4. All the directories and files are 0777 (read, write, execute all).

Any clues/solutions would be greatly appreciated!

BTW, it does see files on network shares ok.

The Live NEVER worked with EXT4 file systems.

If it worked before, it was a fluke…

OK. Thanks. What format should I use??

NTFS / FAT32 / HFS+ (no journaling) all are supported.
