WD TV remote not recognising player

I have a WD TV Live HD media player which the wd tv remote wont see even they are both on the same network.

Firmware - 1.06.15_V

Part Number - WDAAP0000NBK

The device has an IP adress and has no problems connecting to the internet or streaming from the network.

The app (android) is loaded on a samsung galaxy s and is connected to the network via wifi. App opens and I get to the first screen but when I go to the device tab my device is not there - any ideas

Unfortunately the app does not work with the OLD Live Media player. It works with the NEW Live Streaming player and LIve Hub only.
