WD tv play will not update to latest firmware

I have just purchased the WD Tv for my parents and I cannot get it to update the firmware. Over wired, wireless or USB the updating file 1 gets to 2% then says update failed. I have redownloaded the file 3 times one with IE, Firefox and a download manager.

I have tried resetting the unit then updating still fails.

Any ideas?
