I am thinking of getting the TV Play but I am curious if I can store movies on my WD MY BOOK LIVE and play them through the WD TV PLAY.
You can certainly play from from a my book live. However it all depends on how your movies are encoded as the play cannot play all formats.

Suggest you take a look at the comments in the first thread started here a few weeks ago, where many of us discuss the pros and cons of this low-end player. Some folks have not been pleased with their decision to buy one and wished they had gotten a “better” model.

Play is dedicated streamer, I recommend it only for that.
