WD TV LIVE won't play any movies from my passport

Hi,

i purchased a My PassPort external harddrive yesterday and wanted to try it right away on my WD TV LIVE. Unfortunately my WD TV LIVE doesn’t play any of the movies i copied to My PassPort (files were secured with the WD SmartWare password). I have another external harddrive with the same content on it and the WD TV LIVE is playing them with no problems.

Does anyone have an idea what is going on here?

old topic but ive got the same issue with a different hdd tho

The files that play off the other hard drive, are they secured with WD SmartWare too?  If not I wonder if thats causing the problem, if the files are secured and require some kind of authentication to access that could very well be the reason they wont play from your passport, if both drives have secure files I’m not sure what the issue would be then

Same issue meaning you can play the files on your Live with another drive?  What other drive works for you?
