Wd TV live will not turn on using remote

Since the last update the box will not turn on using the remote, it simply will not respond to the remote.

The only way to turn it on is to unplug the power and reconnect it, and once I reconnect the power it will automatically turn on (no remote). The remote will then work fine. 

Also -  the wd remote app does not recognize the box when it is off, so can’t use it to turn the box on also. 

P.S - the wd remote app on my nexus 7 freezes as soon as I open it, and it will block the screen with the wd logo no matter what I do, must reboot the nexus 7 in order to get rid of it. 

Works fine on my nexus 5.

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

The entire unit freezes up not just the remote/power on function.
The fix is to downgrade the firmware and wait.

Replace the power supply with a stronger one, it worked for me.
