WD TV live streaming for DTS-HD and TrueHD for Samsung SmartTV

I have a Samsung SmartTV (UA40F6400AMXXY,  http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/led-tv/UA40F6400AMXXY)..) This TV is not supported DTS-HD and TrueHD.

Now I would like to buy the WD TV live streaming media player which is connected with my TV using HDMI cable.

I got confusing results from internet. Does the latest firewall of live streaming support DTS-HD and TrueHD?

As I don’t have other home theatre, could line streaing directly play sound in my TV?

Thanks for any advice.

Since you’re connecting directly to the TV you will not be benefiting from WDTV SMP’s ability to bitsteam DTS-MA HD.

The box will just downmix it to stereo.

To answer your question , YES you will hear DTS-MA HD and TrueHD as well as regular DTS and AC3 just fine.

Thanks for your information. I have bought a new one. It is working for me.
