WD TV Live Hub MKV Playback

I’ve seen posts before on the ability to not play Compressed Headers on the TV Live and TV Live Plus but havn’t seen any posts  on the Live Hub.

I am unable to play these and have the latest firmware available (2.03.24) any suggestions?

It looks like it’s fixed on the other boxes in the latest firmware but why not this one?

It’s never been an issue on the hub…

Hmm I wonder why I can’t play them then… is there a additional encoding setting that needs to be changed?

Post the MEDIAINFO for such a file. MEDIAINFO.sourceforge.net.

Thanks,

That FAR exceeds the Hub’s playback capabilities.

I’m guessing this is a a Side-by-side 3D format?   It needs to be horizontally compressed to 1920x1080 instead of 3840x1080.

Just downconvereted it with mkvmerge and it still won’t play.

I told you before.   The RESOLUTION is too high.

MKVMerge ain’t gonna do it.   You need to use HANDBRAKE and set it to 1920x1080.

Be careful telegraphing the fact that you’re downloading pirated movies…

where did he telegraph the fact that, that movie is a pirated movie? i do not see a filename anywhere? am i missing something?

Just the fact that there are VERY FEW (if any?) HD 3D feature-length movies accompanied by a Dolby Tru-HD audio track that are NOT from commercial sources, for one thing…

and the fact that the PATH says “Downloads.”

2 + 2 = 3.8

I didn’t say HE pirated it…  If he owns the original, that’s one thing…  But whoever posted it, by definition did, thus making the movie a likely pirate copy…

Just urging caution…

Got it working, for some weird reason I had to make it a weird aspect of 1919 x 1079 for it to play.

The movie is not pirated it is a valid Digital Copy that I tried to convert to 3D with legal software.

Yeah, that’s a little unusual…   So 1920x1080 didn’t work?   It had to be ONE PIXEL smaller?

The movie is not pirated it is a valid Digital Copy that I tried to convert to 3D with legal software.

Perfect.

I’m curious though…  a DIGITAL COPY, meaning the kind you get with a BD or DVD Multi-pack?  The kind that downloads via the internet?   I’ve not seen any titles that are being downloaded in 3D.    Since you own it, it causes no issue to answer:   What movie was this?   … or was it a 3D Bluray that was ripped?
