Hi

Is the a file size restirction on playback ?

TRying to play an MKV file of 7.94 gigs. Plays ok on PC, but on player goes for a few seconds then stops. with blank screen (or starts next file if one present). I can fast forward but as soon as I press play, again a few seconds and stops …

Same happens if playing from a memory stick, an external hard drive or over wifi

No, no size restrictions I’m aware of.     My largest is 15G and it plays fine.

If it happens on a local HD as well, it sounds like the encode is bad (even if it plays on the PC.)

Post the mediainfo for the file so we can see how it’s encoded.
