It has nothing to do with Header Stripping.

It’s the fact that it’s High 10@L4.1.

  1. how do I get this detail info of the mkv (got it with mediainfo)

  2. how do I fix the high ‘format profile’ so the mkv will play

You’ll have to re-encode the movie.

i ran it through hanbrake but same result. what should i be changing?

Please post the full TEXT output of MEDIAINFO for the file Handbrake created, *AND* the original file.

You’ve confused this thread.

Your original video is NOT High 10@L4.1 profile, it’s High@4.1 profile.    It also doesn’t have Header Stripping, which was the whole point of this thread.

So, what problem are YOU having when you try to play that file?

apologies,  here is my original thread.

http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-General-Discussions/MKV-won-t-play-on-WD-Live-Plus/m-p/517088

although this person’s problem wasn’t header stripping either he/she just thought it was
