I have several video files which alway get noise output similar to Pink Noise. Some of them have DTS or AC3 which are no problem for playing back. The uncompatible sound tracks are always PCM2.1 or LPCM2.1. Does it mean that WD TV doesn’t compatible with PCM2.1?
Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

There’s definitely no issue with PCM2.0 but I can’t find any PCM2.1 files to test.
I know that PCM5.1 gets downsampled to PCM2.0 and still sounds okay though. Pink noise is odd…
Can you upload a PCM2.1 file for us to test?
