WD TV Live and MyBook NAS don't work together

Hey,

I have got a WD TV HD live … and a  WD My Book NAS.

I can access the NAS using a network share.

But choosing the “media player” option, I don’t get anything.

What is the reason for that. Network ist DHCP, everything else works fine.

Do you have the Media Server enabled and configured?

Hi Tony,

yes, Twonky is “on” and enabled. I can access it even from my pc using http://192.168.0.103:9000/

Then I see the Twony menu and all my data.

Using WD TV live over the menu

VIDEO - Network - Media Server

there is nothing.

“VIDEO - Network - network share” works fine.

Go into the Twonky URL like you have and see if the WDTV is listed in the device list.

Hi Tony,

thx for your reply. The WD TV is NOT listed in the device list. Only the PC is listed there.

Does this mean, that the WD TV has got the problem?

Not necessarily.  It could also mean that something on the network is preventing the WDTV from “discovering” the MBL.

Is your WDTV using WIRED or WIRELESS?  If Wireless, see if it works when wired.

Hey,

it is all wired. I even added the WD TV live to the media receiver list… (MAC and Name). No difference.

Hmm… any more ideas? Any specials within the router?
