have You Try Using a Different HDMI Cable ? Or another HDMI port On your TV?

I had the same problem and found that the socket for the HDMI cable on the back of the unit is deeper than normal as a result some HDMI cables with a wide moulding will not sit deep enough in the socket hence you will not get a proper connection, this may be intermittent depending on the cable, I modified the socket but it is easier ti use a cable with a thinner moulding.

Hope this helps

well its not the cable and i get the logo and thats it i have the wd live and it works fine think its my tv i have a lg lcd2d 42in i took it back and it work on a new tv fine its werid that the back ground is black on my tv with the wd logo is blue

the one at the shop started with the blue back ground and blue wd logo i didnt want to stuff around wit it so i got the live  and i was on my way

I had exactly the same problem, the solution was suggested by a forum user and that was to cut off a small section around the plug to allow it to enter a bit further, this worked perfectly.

Some cables obviously have slightly more plastic material around the plug than others
