WD TV HD LAN Streaming choppy 1080p DTS Core

Hi all,

A friend gave me his WD TV LAN because my Apple TV doesn’t like DTS audio.  The first movie I used to test (actually the only one) is Gravity.  The movie is choppy but the audio is smooth.  I’m connected via LAN to my WD EX4.

Here is the media info on Gravity.

Wired or WiFi?  I’m assuming Wired because the old WDTV doesn’t have built-in WiFi (but does support WiFi adapters.)

Not WiFi, connected via LAN

After a bit of reading on the WD site I figured it out.  The WD TV HD Gen 1 and the WD TV Mini Media Player do not support DTS.  Time to go get a WD TV Live.

Just an update here, picked up a WD TV Live on sale at Best Buy for $89…worked like a charm.  DTS HD MA is awesome!

Wow. You’re all over the place.

WiFi is LAN, as is wired.
Also, you posted in the forum for the WDTV Live HD / Live Plus… The forum for the old WDTV HD has long been closed… That product is ancient.

Besides. You said the audio was fine, but video didn’t work. Now you’re saying the audio didn’t work?

Choppy video was never a symptom of having DTS audio… I thought The older WDTV did support DTS via passthru… It just couldn’t decode it.
