WD Sync cant find device

Ok so the My Cloud app works fine on my surface Pro 2 with Win 10. i can log into my device (away from home network) but for the life of me WD Sync will not find the device so i can use the sync function…

The WD device is Mycloud ex2 Ultra 16TB
my mobile is Win 10 MS Surface Pro 2

again, all the other software works fine, I login with mycloud name and boom there it is. except for sync. i log in and “no devices found”.

Thoughts?
