WD streaming audio over internet problems

Ok here is the info:

WD MyCloud 2TB

Android Phone/ on Verizon network w/4G LTE connection

Router Netgear WNDR4300

ISP- Comcast speed test 35.75 Mbps Download/11.64 Mbps Upload

I have set up my drive with two private shares in which I keep backups.

Drive is set with a fixed IP.

I have uploaded music and photos into the PUBLIC/Shared Music and Shared Pictures folders.

I have enabled remote access permissions for users as required and enabled DLNA.

While on my home LAN I can open and play MP3 files located on the MYCloud drive on all my devices with no issues.

When not at home I can access the MYCloud drive using the ANDROID WDMycloud APP. I can see all my folders and files. I can see all my songs, alblum artwork etc. HOWEVER when I click on a music file to play not so good. The “player” interface opens as normal and the selected track title shows but the progress bar never advances and the song doesn’t play.

Is there something I am missing because it looks like it should work over Internet but no luck.

Hello, welcome to the community.

I am able to play songs while I’m out of my LAN, however it might take some time to load depending on the upload speed of the LAN where the My Cloud is located.

Have you tried playing them outside of your network with a computer? Also, Are you on 3/4G or WLAN when outside of your house?

I am on a 4g network when not at home. I can select a song, open it and play it with a 3rd party music player like Google play when off the home LAN and on 4G network. The WD player however will not work unless on my home LAN.

There is no lag or data speed issues when using a different player on 4g WAN the songs stream fine but the WD app will not play on WAN.

My ISP upload connection regularly tests 11Mps or higher upload speeds and my LAN is Gigabit wired, should not be a issue.
