WD SmartWare Pro Remote Backup to My Cloud

This situation is this.

PC with data is at one location. The My Cloud is at home (a REMOTE location).

I am wanting to know if I can use WD SmartWare Pro to backup files from the PC to the My Cloud hard drive since they are both located at completely different locations.

I do not want to use dropbox or anything, I just want to transfer the files from the PC using WD SmartWare Pro over the internet to the My Cloud hard drive at home. Is this possible?

WD smartware pro to backup over internet?

Even if it works i will not trust it.

Better options are winscp or allways sync.

Enable ftp (and ssh if you want more security).

Well I am wanting to send it to the WD My Cloud hard drive, so I figured SmarWare Pro had to be used for that if it is even possible.

Smartware pro and mycloud mobile apps are soft provided by WD for free.

It doesn’t mean you must use them.

They are far better and also free option to use you MyCloud NAS for mobile or computer access.

So I can use other software and point it to the My Cloud which would be located off site from the computer I want to backup?

Yes you can.

Create shares on MyCLoud dashboard, enable ftp (port forward if needed) and use the soft you want on mobile or computer over net or local.

For local i use free file sync (mapping network drives)  and for remote winscp.
