We have recently purchased a WD Elements Drive for a second computer and have taken a 30 Day trial of WD Smartware Pro. I am unhappy that we have to purcahse another licence (even though not that expensive) as the Elements Drive is not supported.
Question: Can I use my existing licence on another computer? That is, how many computers does it support? Three? If so, where is the Validation Code stored?

Hi, welcome to the community.
The WD Smartware Pro come with 3 or 10 licenses, one for each computer.
The validation code depends on how you got the license, you could’ve got it from a passport Ultra or a WD My Cloud or other drives that come with Smartware Pro Licenses.

I got the Smartware Pro licence with a Passport drive. The About has a Validation Code that looks like an IP address i.e. x.x.x.x but does not appear to work. Is there anywhere else I can find the Validation Code?
You should’ve received an email with that information, if for some reason you don’t have I would recommend you to contact support as they will be able to assist you with that.
