WD Smartware - not detecting device

I am on my laptop which has the WD Smartware on it. When I click on the icon. It is not showing the MY cloud device and has not backed up anything in a long time.  I have tried to update the software since it indicates there is one.  But nothing happen.  What do I need to do so my laptop can backup again to the WDcloud

Unplug the power to your router at the router, wait one minute then plug it back in. Give every thing time to reboot and then see if you can see your My Cloud in the SmartWare.

After that if you can’t see it do a reboot of your My Cloud, once you see the blue LED on the front of the My Cloud try your SmartWare again.
