WD Smartware Fails to open

I get a brief glimpse at an error message, "The invocation of the constructor on type ‘WDSmartware.retrieve.retrieve’ that matches the specified binding constraints threw an exception. Needless to say the WDSmartware program does not start and it does not automatically back up my files. Any suggestions?
