WD Smartware crashes only when I connect My Passport

Hello everybody,

I installed the latest version of WD Smartware (v. 2.4.20.48) and it crashes immediately after that I connect my Passport hard disk.

I have several My Passport hard disks and they all cause the same problem. I have upgraded the firmware of the hard disk, I have reinstalled WD Smartware several times but I did not solve my problem. I also tried to install older version of WD Smartware but nothing. Did anybody have the same issue?

Problem Solved

I unistalled all the Wester Digital programscts and I reinstalled WD Smartware. The problem disappeared.

Edit: problem not solved. WD Smartware and WD security are in conflict, what a silly thing. I have been a WD users for many years but WD smartware gave me any imaginable sort of problem. Bad software
