I’m trying to recover an old backup I made on a 1Tb My Book Elite 3 years ago . Since I am now using linux, I’m using a Windows 7 installation under vmware player host.
I have installed the last version of WD Smartware, but when I click on “retrieve” no volume is shown.
I have several .pbd files in various folders, each one corresponging to a different backup. I can browse them using explorer and copy them around. Is there any way I can restore them back?
Hi f.cipriani, welcome to the WD Community. Try exploring the smartware.swstor folder inside the My Book to recover your files manually.
