Hi. My PC died (disk dead) and on starting recovery using WD Smart Ware all files are marked as deleted in the backup. Is this normal after the source computer dies as a result of disk failure? Thanks.
@wderab Were you using WD Sync or some other means to sync all your devices?
I have never had this problem and I have had to replace a couple of hard disk on desktop computers that I have owned. I used recovery to reinstall what I had backed up.
Have you already tried getting SmartWare to show deleted files?

That’s the problem. If I DON’T show deleted files there’s nothing there. It seems to think that all files (1000s of them including emails) have been deleted.
