WD Smart software treat the passport external HDD as internal HDD in my PC

Hi all,

I am not sure what happened but  today when I need to back up my PC and using the WD smartware to backup my file,

the soft ware read the passport USB external HDD as part of my PC internal HDD, I am not able to use back up page and I can not uninstall the WD Smartware from my PC using Vista.

Is anyone  know how to fixed this issue?

Do you get any error messages when trying to uninstall smartware? You can also try to download the latest smartware version and install it on top of the old one.
