WD sharespace USB 2To limitation

Hi,

I bought 2  WD My Book USB3 3to and tried to plug them behind my WD sharespace ( firmware 2.3.02) but i nothing worked as expected. After few research, i find out there is a 2To limitation (i think it’s more 1.5To) on the capacity of USB drives you can plug behind the WD Sharespace .

I heard that such limitation also exists on other WD products ( http://forum.wdlxtv.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4841 ) that finaly got theirs firmwares upgrades.

- Is there such an upgrade scheduled for WD sharespace ?

- Should i return my WD My Book USB3 3to drives ?

  • Is there any alternative firmware i should try ?

Thank you for your help !

Hello,

According to the information that you provided, you are running the latest firmware that was released for the WD Sharespace.

The WD Sharespace supports up to the size of the unit, meaning that if the Sharespace is 2TB it will support up to 2TB and if the Sharespace is 4TB it will support up to 4TB and the same for the 6 TB unit.

At the moment there’s no information about a upgrade schedule for the WD Sharespace.
