If someone enabled WD security, set a password, then later logs in how does the disk appear to the operating system BEFORE giving it the WD password?

I have a drive that was moved to a new computer. Right now the entire disk appears unreadable. I’m wondering if the user set a password on the disk. First partition appears to be gibberish.

Hi sgbotsford,

You would see the WD Unlocked in the file explorer and once you open that it would ask for the drive password. After the drive is unlocked you would be able to access the drive.
