WD Security and Utilities don't recognize MY BOOK

Windows 10 system. When first installed WD Security and Utilities software worked as expected with MY BOOK.

Suddenly without any known catalyst both program say “attach a supported drive” when I start them and they do nothing else.

I can read and write to the drive thru windows.

I cannot eject the drive because windows reports some activity it cannot stop.

What should I do?

Have you checked task manager to see which background programs may be using the drive?
I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the latest versions of this programs through the WD website.
