WD RED hibernate

Hi,

I am using WD Red on my Synology NAS DS 212J.

There are some posts in Syno’s forum stipulating that going hibernate is NOT recommended as it reduces HDD lifespan.

I could imagine this might depend on the HDD being used.

What is the position of WD on this matter ?
