WD Quick View disappeared (even after reinstall and reboot)

After two months of not using my “My Book Live 3TB” today I wanted to make a backup with time machine on my Macbook Pro.
So I have turned on my MBL, and as it asked, I have upgraded the firmware.
Everything works fine on the NAS, unfortunately I cannot see the WD Quick View icon on the Finder’s sidebar on the top-right part of the Finder’s menu.

I already tried to:

  • Uninstall WD Quick View and reinstall it;
  • Manually kill WD Quick View and restart it: by killing the ProcessID, then starting again the tool from /Library/Application\ Support/WDSmartware/

Actually the process is launched, as I can see from the task manager, unfortunately the icon is not showed on the Finder’s sidebar on the top-right part of the Finder’s menu.

Any hints? :slight_smile:

Cheers

Try downloading this version of WD Quick View

what firmware do you currently have?

The app’s version is v2.2.2.05
I uninstalled the previous and installed the latest one.
I even checked on Preferences menu and reboot many times.
The Firmware on the NAS is: MyBookLive 02.32.05-046 : Core F/W.

I have even manually started the WDQuickView tool from the terminal and dumping the process by using dtruss.
At the moment I have sent the traces dumped to the WD support.
