WD portable not detected on mac(via disk utility) despite using exFAT?

WD Portable ultra 2tb not detected on os x yosemite. Its not even showing in disk utility.I have changed the format to exFAT using windows PC(non boot camp)

Whats surprising is that it is not even detectable on Windows 8.1 running via BOOT CAMP. i have tried both FAT32 & NTFS format.

BUT IT IS WORKING SMOOTHLY ON native windows pc.

Its brand new. Only a day old.

ANY SOLUTION???

Hello and welcome to the WD Community,

Althogh it was detected by a native windows computer, try using a different USB cable connecting the drive to the back USB Ports of the computer.
