I currently own a WD TV Live player and I am thinking about buying WD Play. When I saw the comparison sheet on your website the only 1 thing short of WD TV Live is the support to play “Plays MPEG2 videos and DTS audio”. My question is whether it can pass through the DTS audio of a movie to my AV receiver or it wont play the video file at all?

My personal opinion it still here:
Play it’s a good player… i have used it whit different X264 file and all file i try it’s supported and played whitout problems (you need to watch only mediainfo of the file… if profile it’s superior to HP4.1 it’s not supported on WD Tv Play but every file i watched used HP@3.1 or lower profile).
I thinks (but i can’t confirm this) hardware of “WD TV Live” it’s not better respect a “WD TV Play” but WD has choose to sell the “WD TV Play” has low cost product and have publish and released it whit a firmware without mpeg2 support and all other limitation respect a WD TV Live…
