WD Photos uploading to "password" named directory

Hi,

I setup WD Photos on a couple of android phones to access our new WD My Cloud.  It works fine on mine (admin) and uploads the photos to a folder on the public share that is named “the first part of my email address”.  On my  wife’s phone, the app created a folder that is her named the same as her account password!  Not very secure!  I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing the data for the app, no luck.  There is nothing in the settings to change the location of the uploads.  Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,

Jim

Hello,

Have you tried deleting the account on the My Cloud and creating a new one?

I have not tried that.  I was hoping to avoid that since her laptop is all backed up to the My Cloud and there is other data stored on the drive.

I’ll try this if there is no other ideas.

Thanks,

Jim

WD support just got back to me.  WD Photos grabs the first email address it finds for the folder name.  For some unknown reason, my wife set up a google account with a name she typically uses for her password.
